Parental involvement Policy

Parental involvement means the participation of parents in regular, two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring the following:

  • Parents play an integral role in assisting their child's learning and in their child's academic success;
  • Parents are actively involved in their child's education at school;
  • Parents are full partners in their child's education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.

Student/Family/Staff Compact

It's important that families and schools work together to help students achieve high academic and behavior standards. Through a process that includes teachers, families, students and community representatives, the following are agreed upon roles and responsibilities that we as partners will carry out to support student success in school and in life.

Parent/Volunteer Policy

The Sylvan Union School District will require all school volunteers to complete a volunteer application process in order to be a school and classroom volunteer as well as participate in school field trips.
